This means that you no longer need to upload the "I'm naked at BeautyAndSin.com" photo. Thank you to those who already have. Before I'm done, I will be going through and deleting the members with no images up at all.

This also means that Nicholas is 100% in charge of looking after the site. I expect him to pursue a "lazy"-fairre style of webmastering. He might feel obligated to do more with the site if he were making any money off of it, but I'm not sure about that. If you want to ask him about it, writing on his guestbook may be the best way to contact him. You can still e-mail webmaster@beautyandsin.com, but I'm not sure he checks that.

Also, the terms of use page has been further updated; please familiarize yourself with these terms, as images in violation will be deleted. A bit of clarification. First, I do plan on trying to e-mail people before the 16th so they know of the new policy change. E-mailing 3,000-odd people is a bit annoying, though, so it may be that not everyone gets e-mailed. I'm also considering deleting accounts which I can't contact by e-mail due to being provided a bad address.

Next, a bit more regarding censorship on this site. At this time, I'm planning on censoring images only if they violate the terms of use. While those do suggest that a bunch of images of your penis are probably uninteresting, things like that don't violate the terms. I'm still thinking about what (if anything) should happen in terms of censoring and content. If censoring based on the merit of the images does seem like a good idea, I would like to implement a voting system or something first, so it's more of a community decision. That would take a while.

THIS IS THE IMPORTANT NEWS POST

Things are about to change at this website. I'm sorry that this has taken so long; Nicholas has been busy, and I haven't wanted to steal his project. However, I, anonymous, will now be taking charge of the site.

Beauty and Sin is going to go in a slightly new direction. The initial purposes of the website were to see what people would do when prompted to post nude images of themselves, and to investigate the line between pornography and art. The first question has been answered: when you ask people to put up nude self-images, you get some art stuff, you get some crap, and you get a lot of exhibitionism. The second issue, however, remains unclear: what is the line between porn and art? Is there one? Etc, etc.

The current setup of the site is fine when the point is just to see what people will post when uncensored, but it does not facilitate inquiries about art and porn. In order to focus on this issue, Beauty and Sin is going to aim to become a more community-oriented site.

In terms of actual changes, this primarily means more censoring. Nicholas didn't censor at all. I'm going to. If an image violates the terms of service, it will be taken down. If a user's comments are abusive above and beyond the call of duty, they will be deleted. If there's spam on the forum, I will make it go away. I plan to clarify what does and does not violate the terms of service, and to notify you of why your image got removed.

Also, as of March 16th, all users will be required to upload a photo of everyone who appears in their images holding a piece of paper that reads "I will be naked at BeautyAndSin.com." Members without such a photo after this date will be deleted. This is an attempt to both verify that it is, in fact, you in your images, and that you are an active, involved member of the site. Also also, Nicholas was a programmer, but I am not. That means that there are only very limited changes I can make to the structure of the website, so there are a lot of things I won't be able to do. This website was started as an art project to explore the line line between art and obscenity. It is an online community for people to upload and share nude photos of themselves.

You are welcome to upload quality, nude self-images. Just remember: no sex, no oral sex, and no masturbation. Follow the terms of use. Also, we all know that men have penises. Unless you are doing something interesting or artistic with it, please don't just upload a bunch of close-ups of your genitals.
